Plan Your Workout

Your body needs to be ready to take on the challenges of your workout. To ensure this, feed your body the proper fuel to give yourself energy. A light snack filled with carbs and proteins (e.g. a protein/fruit smoothie) 30-60 minutes before your workout is a great way to fuel up and maintain your energy levels during the workout.

Get Your Gear On

The next step is to put on your athletic gear. Make sure that your workout clothes will allow you to move properly, and that your shoes are the required ones for the type of exercise you’ll be doing. Tie up long hair so it doesn’t get in your face during the workout and use sweatbands on your wrist if they help.

Pack Up

It’s more than likely that there are some items that you can’t leave behind if you want to have a good training session. Water, a snack, a towel, your training gear, and even your mp3 player can make a huge difference, so pack them up in a gym bag and take them with you.

Lastly, make sure that your muscles are ready for what’s coming by warming up. Doing some light cardio to get your heart rate up and stretching different muscle groups will help you do better during your training session as well as help you avoid injuries.
